Yesterday, 8th April 2021 was an entertaining atmosphere at Awo Stadium; University of Ibadan during a friendly basketball game between University of Ibadan troopers and The Polytechnic, Ibadan Ballers.
The match started with the UI Troopers going ahead 21-7 in the first quarter, the polyibadan ballers tried to cover up the points gap at the second and third quarter with both ending 36-28 and 51-50 respectively but eventually, succumbed to defeat in the last quarter with the final score 91-80.
Press Council’s correspondent who was at the court to see the match. In a brief interview with the UI troopers’ captain, Mr Aderinboye Damilare who said , “The whole idea of this friendly is for us to connect, get to meet one another and build a very good relationship between the two teams”.

Also, speaking with the TPI’s SUG Sports Director, Comrade Peter Samuel, “most sport directors focus on just football alone but this administration is not just about football, it’s about sports generally. Subsequently, there will be other friendly matches between polyibadan and other schools in some other sports, football inclusive.” He said.
