Today Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, The Press Council, The Polytechnic, Ibadan officially welcomed new executives that will lead the council for the 2024/2025 academic year as the outgoing leaders were formally relieved of their duties. This event took place during the Press Council’s Handing Over and Award ceremony, themed “Transition of Trust,” at Giannis Lounge, PI Hostel, Osuntokun Avenue, Bodija.
This notable gathering was both educational and celebratory, drawing together an array of distinguished guests. In attendance were ; The Public Relations Officer, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in person of Alh Soladoye Adewole, Alumni of Press Council, The JCIN TPI President, Akande Moses amongst other well wishers.
In his keynote address, the Public Relations Officer of The Polytechnic, Ibadan underscored the crucial role of selfless service and the power of networking among campus journalists. He urged the students to uphold the values of teamwork, dedication, and integrity as they strive for journalistic excellence.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to individuals whose outstanding contributions have significantly advanced the Press Council and campus journalism. The program also featured launching of the Press Week 2024 souvenir which was a landmark moment, symbolizing the transition of trust and leadership within the Council.
The handing over service marked a pivotal moment as new leaders assumed their roles, committing to building upon the legacy of their predecessors and propelling the Press Council to even greater heights.
