The Polytechnic, Ibadan’s National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), led by Com. Jimoh Toheeb Morenikeji, celebrated their cultural and award day celebration earlier today, 22nd August 2024, at the Assembly Hall, North Campus of the institution.

The event commenced with a welcome address by the President of the association, Com. Jimoh Toheeb Morenikeji, who expressed his appreciation to everyone for honoring their invitations. He urged everyone to stay calm and enjoy themselves as they celebrate their culture.

Featuring various chanters, dancers, and poetry recitations, the event, which was a true celebration of culture, was themed “Culture: An Essential Tool in Societal Diversity.” The theme was duly addressed by the Keynote Speaker, Com. Kehinde Ayanboade, who encouraged everyone to always be proud of their culture.

The Staff Adviser, Mrs Olatunji D. T, advised the youths to embrace unity and develop a good understanding to cultivate meaningful relationships.

The NAOSS Award and Cultural Day ceremony was a resounding success, with distinguished individuals receiving honors. The Admission Officer, Dr. Olajide Taiwo, was recognized for outstanding contributions to student enrollment and support. The SUG President, Comr. Oyekan Tobiloba, was recognized for his exceptional leadership and dedication to student welfare. Additionally, an Indigenous GNS Lecturer, the Staff Adviser, Mrs. Olatunji D. T. was celebrated for excellence in teaching and promoting cultural awareness.

The event concluded with the inauguration of the new NAOSS executives, the crowning of Miss NAOSS (Omidan), and the presentation of awards of excellence to individuals who were said to have contributed selfless services and support towards the growth and development of the organization.
