The Continuing Education Center Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has been accused of jeopardizing the goal of their students by the Part Time students of the institution.
According to the letter made available to Press Council, the Part Time students have accused the management of CEC of playing and toying with their futures after failing to play their roles despite several promises in several meetings.
“The last meeting we had with CEC management was on Thursday 27th of October, 2022, which the DIRECTOR of the center gave us his words that the center will release the memo stating our examination date on Monday 31st October, 2022 unfailingly but unfortunately no memo was released which obviously mean the CEC management has been playing with our academic career and our future.” the letter says.
“The students have been fulfilling their part of the agreement by paying their tuition fee as they are all aware of the implementation of No Payment, No Examination by the centre, though some students are having portal problems most especially 2020 set.”
“The centre has not been fair enough to the students, the centre should do the needful for Education is our right not a privilege.” it added.
The students have however, given the management of the centre an ultimatum of 24 hours to release the date of their examination.
“Sequel to this, the Party Time Students populace hereby give the centre an ultimatum of 24 hours to release the date of our examination.”
“We will be glad if our request is favourably granted as we will not be pleased if the centre forces the students to confrontation.” it warned.
Titled “THE CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTER MANAGEMENT ARE FOND OF JEOPARDIZING THE FUTURE AND GOAL OF THEIR STUDENTS: A MENANCE TO THE PROGRESS OF THE CENTRE AND STUDENTS”, the letter was signed by Comr. Akinola Ridwan, on behalf of Part Time Students, and addressed to the Rector of the institution.
