Ofor Kelvin, a final year student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has bagged an award from the Road Accident Information and Rescue Organization.
As part of her programs for her Road Safety Campaign, towards the reduction of accidents in the Ember months, the Road Accident Information and Rescue Organization has deemed it fit to recognize the contributions of exceptional individuals who have contributed to the growth and sustainability of the organization.
Bagging the award of recognition alongside Mr Kelvin were renowned security officials and dignitaries across the country, which include; Alh. Chief Rasaki Olalekan A. Salawu, former National Coordinator, Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC); CSC. Oluwole Ebenezer Olusegun
Divisional Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC); Chaplain Sanni Adams
Commandant General, Shepherd Rod Chaplain and Humanitarian Mission, and others.
While speaking with The Press Council’s correspondence, Ofor Kelvin expressed his feelings after receiving the award.
“I feel extremely happy, because this is my first ever award and it makes me seem like an exceptional being to have received the ROAD SAFETY RECOGNITION AWARD, alongside with dignities, such as, Major Salawu and many more.”
“The organization is an NGO that has been in existence for over 13 years now, and I have always been eager to make sacrifices for the organization. However, I feel elated today because I am being noticed and appreciated.” – he added.
Kelvin is a HND 2 student of Mass Communication Department. He is currently serving as the President of Federation of Igbo Students (FISU), The Polytechnic, Ibadan, chapter.
