Several controversies have been generated since the upsurge in the level of underwear theft in the country. For this reason, many ladies have been careful on how they dry their panties while since several scenarios, some have stopped wearing panties.
Many might want to ask as to why this new innovation should affect just the female gender, on why should their panties be a source of money making, on why it is just the ladies that are victims. The Nigerian Ladies approve the fact that they are used for erotic music videos, satisfy sexual craves, sexual abuse as well as rape victims but that which trends now is Panties to buying Benz.
Report has it that some ladies believed that the perpetrators of the evil act are internet fraudsters or better known as “Yahoo Boys.” According to them, these perpetrators would stop at nothing to get wealthy overnight.
The prevalent reports of ritualists stealing female underwears, sometimes at gunpoint, particularly around campuses of tertiary institutions are causing fear and panic among women, particularly female students. It was gathered that the underwear of girls and women between the ages of 14 and 35 are allegedly considered as ‘hot cake’ for use by the ritualists.

I don’t expect reasonable answers to the above questions but report has it that used pants according to some students at Asaba campus of the Delta State University, sells for as much as three hundred and fifty thousand naira (350,000), with some adding that the price can be higher if it is confirmed to have body fluids. According to newspapers, one of the measures being used by female students at the campus to protect themselves is to go out without wearing panties.
According to one of the students in Asaba, “we hear that the pants those ritualists or yahoo boys steal are being used for money rituals. After they finish performing some rituals on the pants, the owners will start bleeding or vomiting blood. When the news got to us, three of my friends stopped wearing pants, I have stopped going out to study at night. We have been advised to stop hanging our pants on washing lines outside. Also, we heard that some women sprinkle their pants with anointed oil by preachers. Many ladies have stopped leaving their pants in their boyfriend’s house or wearing pants there.”
Since the craft of ‘Babalawos’ of the fraudsters are upgrading to exploiting new innovations, since the yahoo guys won’t stop making money before the risen of the sun, since we cannot stop wearing our panties, since boxers are not one of their options to being rich, since we feel uncomfortable wearing boxers, since we cannot but dry our panties, since some ladies have started drying their wet pants with iron- the female gender have been advised to stop walking out late and alone, stop drying their pants outside, be careful of their choice of friends, be contented with what they have especially those that date yahoo boys, to stop cohabiting, to stop sleeping over at an untrusted persons’ houses, to avoid unnecessary visits, to scream out in cases of sexual harassment, among others.
