As early as 06:30am today, the Unitarians and Olorites held a protest over lack of basic amenities which led to the blockage of major roads in the institution, denying lecturers and staff entrance to their various offices.

It was reported that the protest occurred due to lack of water, electricity and other basic amenities in the hostel.

It can be recalled that on the 2nd of May, 2023, the Unitarians protested over lack of water supply and other amenities, which the management called for a dialogue, but, however, the students are yet to be satisfied with the response of the management, which has led to another protest.

An aggrieved protester stated that, “It’s quite painful when we do not have access to all of these amenities. An hour of power supply was given to us, but we couldn’t charge our phones to a full percentage. The pumping machine at Olori Hall Of residence, block C, keeps breaking down which, however, led to the denial of the needed facilities for the day.”

As at the time of filing this report, there were no casualties recorded and no properties was damaged.

However, The Dean Student Affairs, Engr. Makinde addressed the protesters and promised to fulfil all of their requests before end of the day.
