Sequel to the long mid semester break given to the students by the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, the Management, through the School’s Public Relation Officer, made a Press Release addressing the situation of the break on Friday, 25th April, 2019.

In the Statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Modupe Theresa Fawale, disclosed that the prolongation of the break came as a result of the Management fine tuning the logistics for student’s resumption, since the students would commence their First semester examinations almost immediately on resumption and every logistic to ensure their smooth stay on campus has to be put in place.

It was further stated, “the Management observed that there has not been electricity supply by IBDEC due to major electrical fault to the institution in the last three weeks which virtually makes resumption difficult as the institution cannot perpetually rely on diesel generated electricity which in all ramifications will not provide sufficient electricity supply for the students”

In addition, Students are still expected to stay away from the institution until the management directs their resumption, and any protest purported by the students or interest groups will not be tolerated as those arrested by the police will be prosecuted.
