The Electoral Committee for the 2019/2020 Students’ Union Election vowed to prosecute violators and instil sanctions on any aspirant found guilty of any of the election violations.

This consensus was reached during the Committee’s meeting held on Tuesday, 20th August, 2019 at the Old BOS Chamber, North Campus of the Institution.

The Violations which spread across violence during campaigns, Use of Digital Banners, wearing of branded vests, using motorcade, consumption of alcohols, inscriptions on roads and buildings, usage and possession of hard drugs and dangerous weapons, and pasting posters on walls of offices, lecture theatres, and classrooms

When the issue of those who have violated them already was raised by Soliu Ahmed Opeyemi, student’s representative from Faculty of Science, the committee, headed by Mr. Abegunde, in the absence of the Dean of Students’ Affairs, reached a consensus to overlook the violations the moments before the meeting.

The committee further gave a directive to those who have violated already to make amendments, especially the inscription on roads and walls to be cleaned off before Monday 26th, August 2019, as non adherence to the directive may lead to disqualification of such aspirant, and may equally be sanctioned.
