Junior Chambers International Nigeria, The Polytechnic, Ibadan chapter, (JCIN TPI) organized a motivational program tagged “Shape a Future”, an Impact Project at CIBN Hall, Mid Campus of the institution, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
The program, themed “Building Bridges to the Future,” aimed to shape the future of secondary school students and guide them towards achieving their ambitions. The event brought together dignitaries, JCI members, top officials, and students from Abadina College and The Polytechnic Ibadan secondary School students.
The Local Organization President of JCI Nigeria, The Polytechnic, Ibadan Chapter, JCIN Member Lawal Dolapo Grace, In her opening remarks emphasized the importance of empowering young minds to become active citizens and leaders of tomorrow. She expressed her gratitude to the sponsors and partners who made the event possible.
The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the national anthem, and a short debate titled “Building Bridges to the Future” among representatives of the invited secondary school students. The debate showcased the intellectual prowess and public speaking skills of the participants. After a thorough deliberation and scoring, Abadina College emerged as the winner.
After which the program continued with a first panel session which emphasis on the driving force to success and advice to making a better future anchored by JCIN Member, Fakorede Tobi Emmanuel.
Dr. Muyiwa Ojo delivered a lecture on “Building Bridges to Your Future,” emphasizing the importance of vision, values, and determination in achieving success. He stressed that personal values play a crucial role in shaping one’s future. Dr. Ojo also encouraged the students to be proactive, set goals, and work towards achieving them.
A panel session featuring Mrs. Pelumi Olanrewaju and Mr. Okoh Israel shared their life experiences, challenges, and strategies for overcoming obstacles. They emphasized the importance of determination, skill acquisition, and staying focused in turning dreams into reality. The panelists also encouraged the students to be resilient, learn from their failures, and keep pushing forward. The Matron, Dr. (Mrs.) Abiodun Oladuni Adegbuyi, presented an award on behalf of the Local organization President, to both panelists thanking them for the words of encouragement shared to the younger generation.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by JCI VP Project, JCIN Member, Comr. Gbadebo Oladimeji E, who appreciated the sponsors and attendees. He encouraged the audience to strive for excellence, regardless of their circumstances. The event featured a colorful dance session, a receptive atmosphere, and side attractions, ending the event with a happy atmosphere.
