In a memorandum released by the Students’ Union Government of The Polytechnic, Ibadan in the early hours of today, December 4th, 2023, the outgoing administration issued an apology for the delayed communication regarding the mid-semester break and assured students of their commitment to swift action.

According to the memo, the SUG frowned at the role played by the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), of issuing a memorandum on December 2, 2023. The Polytechnic, Ibadan Students’ Union, while appreciating NAPS’ concern on the situation, nevertheless, expressed dismay over lack of prior notice, considering their existing efforts to resolve the issue through underground consultations and lobbying.

The memo further states that; an emergency meeting with the school authority has been scheduled to profer a palatable solution to the matter. The Union emphasized its dedication to achieving an optimistic outcome and students are urged to remain calm and patient as they work towards a quick resolution.
