The much anticipated training on Financial Intelligence; Savings, Investments And capital accumulation culture organized by the Joint Minds Club, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Asiwaju Chapter, was an intense training session arranged to renew the hearts and minds of students on the need to experience freedom from every form of financial crisis.

The event, held on the 12th April, 2023, was an initiative to enlighten members of the club and the Accountancy department at large on personal financial intelligence and great habits for improving financial intelligence.

The guest trainer, LJM Adams Abiodun Adebowale (FCA), gave an eye-opening lecture on the theme, and also spoke on the seven (7) budgeting rules to be a disciplined saver of funds. He stated, “Good financial intelligence comes from one’s ability to save up set-aside funds from one’s income. Personal finance is how you manage your money and make financial plans for an easy, prosperous future. Your personal decisions and actions influence your financial health.”

He further stated that, “Certain broad tried-and-tested rules can help you make better financial decisions and plan your financial future. You can follow specific rules of thumb, like save at least 10% of your income towards retirement for your financial planning.

The intense training, however, featured an interactive session with members ensuring that the motive of the training as organized by the Set 21/17 administration was met.

Joint Minds Club, Asiwaju Chapter, is a notable club of the Accountancy Department whose aim is channeled towards academic, social and professional excellence.
