Following the frequent unrest and heightening In the level of insecurity in The Polytechnic, Ibadan, The Student Union Government under the administration of Adedeji Adedamola Abdulazeez has declared a Stay at Home order to all students of the institution.

In the statement, the union body extended greetings to the Muslim student while encouraging all other students to stay at home for the main time till resolutions are met concerning the alarming rate of insecurity in the School.

The statement reads:

“We urge all students to ‘STAY AT HOME’ for now till our resolutions are being met,  Obviously, Adedeji Adedamola Abdulazeez led administration has made students’ welfare a priority and will not relent until normalcy is restored in all ramifications on campus; standard security teams as well as a conducive learning environment for students is our right and not a privilege. The SUG body implores us all to kindly and positively bear with us on this decision. Thanks for your understanding.’

Press Council also gathered that the statement was birthed as a result of the gun battle that occurred yesterday evening at the north campus as three students were reported to have been affected by the stray bullets.

The student Union Body has, however, paid a visit to the affected students late yesterday and implored other students to stay at home until normalcy is restored in all ramifications.
