So many things in life try to define us and more often than not they actually determine how we turn out to be in life; our parents, our culture, as well as our society and personality. Charity they say begins at home but the investigative journalists are confused as to why individuals especially students have decided to just keep their good image at home and show their indecent, immoral, disobedient, lack of manners, irresponsible, and deviant side on campus.
Eye shadows, lip glosses, mascara, blush, foundation, powders, lip liners, studs, deadlock, eye contact lenses, bump shorts, crazy jeans, jeggings, jumpers, harmless dresses and the likes; everywhere I turn, it seems that there is one lady actually too made up or some guy looking crazy. I know the stuffs mentioned are the craze now but why should decency and respect be old-fashioned? Why should a student live a fake life on campus?
It has been observed that some students believe in joining the gangs of the most influential and attractive persons on campus while their parents run helter to ensure that their tuition fees are paid for. Their parents are in the market hawking in the sun, borrowing monies from microfinance banks, making ends meet to ensure they provide for them to make educational life better and more convenient. But it is disheartening to state that these students are the ones with crazy hairstyles, crazy jeans and the likes. They are the ones who never attend classes, who behave like the rich man’s son or daughter, who make jest of lecturers, who beg lecturers for marks, who sleep with lecturers for marks, who cohabit, who go shopping, who visit hotels to mark every night registers, who disturb the class.
The above listed is not the business of the investigative journalists, but our concern basically is the pity we have for their parents who resume to their various hustling and bustling as early as possible in the morning and close very late at the dawn of each day for 365 days. The fact is that they are being deceived by their wards. Their wards would at home pretend to be the calm, responsible, decent and serious ones but in school, they are the most popularly known sexiest, hottest and dubious personalities.
It was a real shock when the investigative journalists found out that these students are from poor or average backgrounds, and in fact, they are the hope of their family. It was found that struggling is their only means of survival while they are on campus rocking it black and blue.
It is however imperative for the investigative journalists to implore students to stop living fake lives on campus. Be the best representative of your family, be who you are, be contented with what you have, let your background be the solid rock to achieving your success on campus.
