There can’t be any more way to describe a slap in the face of justice other than stark injustice if one’s sole right is tampered with at the expense of being incapacitated as a student and or as a bonafide member of the Association of Civil Engineering Department, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
To overthrow a government, it begins with a motive, then words, and then action. This is the typical illustration of the scenario that is happening in the civil engineering department – A case between a lecturer of the department and the executives of Nigeria Institution of Civil Engineers – Students’ Affiliate (NICE – SA) The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where the lecturer had gone farther to the second step of overthrowing a government by saying out his motive of acquiring their secretariat for his personal office. Though according to research, the motive isn’t widely known yet among the students of the department, and thus may be referred to as hearsay, but we should know that in a bunch of rumour, there’s an iota of truth lying therein.
From the various reports obtained from Civil Engineering classes, and personal encounters with some students of the department, they clearly ascertained that, the lecturer has been making his motive known, and it wouldn’t be long before he comes with the third step of overthrowing a government – action.
Civil Engineering department association, same as the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering department associations, is one of the oldest departmental association on campus, and ever since its inception has had a secretariat owned to itself, to allow the access of the bonafide and financial members to relate their issues to the executives who represent them. National Association of Electrical Electronics Engineering Students (NAEEES) has its department secretariat somewhere within the coffers of NAEEES Hall, Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers (NIMeche) has its secretariat somewhere around the Mechanical Lecture halls.
The question now is why then should Civil Engineering’s secretariat located around the Structural Lab be snatched away from its members?
It, apparently, will be a case of an orphan who had a roof over his head when his parent was alive, but consequence of their death, the power-hungry relatives and families, displaced the boy out of the house, and left him vulnerable to inimical issues of life. If the members of the Executive of NICE – SA are later walked out of their secretariat, losing their ownership of the secretariat, they become vulnerable to the inimicalities – mockery – from other departments who even may not be up to their standard.
As clearly stated from above, it wasn’t a generalised view, but rather it’s a view that conjured from reports obtained from various students of the department. whether it would be regarded as a hearsay or not, it is felt from a secured perspective to let the entirety know. That so which, if it later occurs, the bonafide and financial members of the association can rise and be compatriots that would abet the veiling of injustice behind bars.

Thank you for your observation, but unless we get a report of whatever injustice you talk about, we may not be able to act on it. Whatever you perceive as injustice, let us know, and we will take appropriate steps of investigation and out up a report for the populace to read. Thanks.
I think you can always write the press council on anything you perceive as injustice. In my perception, as this report is, someone reported it, and necessary investigation was carried out before being released to the public. My humble opinion
