The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), after a joint National Executive Council (NEC) meeting yesterday, the 15th of November, 2023, suspend the ongoing nationwide strike.
According to the unions, the suspension followed the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, during which the offers of the Federal Government of Nigeria were thoroughly reviewed and a resolution was reached to call off the nationwide strike that ensued on Tuesday, the 14th of November, 2023.
However, the unions urged all concerned bodies to fully resume and report to work today, Thursday, the 16th of November, 2023. Therefore, all students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan are advised to attend classes promptly as lectures continues today.
