On the 7th September, 2024, the Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN), The Polytechnic, Ibadan held its 40th Convention, 41st Investiture, and the maiden edition of the JCIN TPI Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP), award at Gallani Suite Hotel.

The event, themed “Celebrating Leadership: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future”, commenced with the National Anthem and JCI Creed, followed by a keynote address from the theme speaker, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas R., Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly (Oyo East/Oyo West Constituency), who emphasized the legacy of JCI, urging the new leadership to build on it with purpose, accountability, and innovation.

The outgoing Local Organization President, JCIN Member Akande Moses Olamide, reflected on his administration’s achievements, including the DRABS event and the Asiwaju Inter-Faculty Speech Contest. He also encouraged the incoming team to strengthen relationships between alumni and the school Management.

The Guest Speaker, Hon. Prince Falana Adebowale A., Chairman Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, encouraged youth to focus on personal and technological development, critical thinking, and contributing to the economy.

Awards were presented to dignitaries, including Dr. (Mrs.) Olajide Taiwo and Prince Adebowale. JCIN National President Sandra Ekene praised the outgoing administration for the success of the event  and their achievements over the past year.

The Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Award of TPI celebrates the remarkable contributions of young individuals who have made significant impacts in their communities and professions. It honors their dedication to excellence, leadership, and positive change. These awardees embody the spirit of innovation, service, and commitment to societal progress. Their achievements inspire others to rise to their full potential.

The JCIN TPI Garden Project was officially launched, and Dr. (Mrs.) Abiodun Oladuni Adegbuyi and Dr. (Mrs.) Olajide Taiwo were decorated as JCIN TPI Matron and Staff Adviser, respectively.

JCIN Member Akande Moses and JCIN Member Adedeji Moronfoluwa were made a JCIN Councillor for their relentless service to humanity.

The ceremony concluded with the investiture of the 41st Local Organization President, JCIN Member Lawal Dolapo Grace, who is also the FLY team leader. JCIN Member Abidoye Rebecca was officially announced as the Vice President in charge of Administration, while JCIN Member Gbadebo Oladimeji was named the Vice President in charge of Projects. 

The event was graced with the presence of JCI Nigeria President, JCIN Amb. Sandra Ekene Efemuaye, Collegiate Chairman JCI Nigeria Promise Issac Olayemi, JCIN Sen. Charles Onyibe, Hon Adebayo Babajide Representing Ibadan North state Constituency 2 and Hon Akinsete Olakunle Special Adviser, Housing and Urban development Oyo state among others.
