The Polytechnic, Ibadan year 2020 Christmas carol service organized by the department of Music Technology of the institution was filled with massive atmosphere of joy, felicitation and cheerfulness. The event which was held on 22nd December, 2020 at Assembly Hall, North Campus of the institution had in attendance, the Chairman Governing Council of the institution; Professor Adekunle Akinyemi, Deputy Rector; Mrs. Olubamiwa Abiodun, Registar; Mrs. Modupe Theresa Fawale, Dean of Faculties, Members of Staff, Guests and friends.
In his opening remark, the Rector of the institution represented by the Deputy Rector applauded the Music Department for organizing such a colourful event. “The music department is one of the leading departments in this institution that can compete with any of its counterpart in the world. They are superb and wonderful in most of their performances. Creditably, the TETFUND recently eulogized their efforts in the academic race. However, on behalf of the Rector, the entire management staffs, we say Happy Xmas to you all”.
Moreso, in his message, Rev. James Olukoya (Chaplain, Lord’s Chapel of the institution) spoke on, “A Great Joy” he said, ‘the period of Christmas is beyond giving presents irrespective of the religion, the period shows a joyful and beautiful atmosphere’. He further admonished everyone to be happy, cheerful and show gladness of heart despite any situation. Also,he prayed for the entire members of the governing council, management, members of staff, students and all well-wishers.
Conclusively, the event had various bible lessons and musical performances by the departmental choir, Brass Band and Christmas felicitation by the staff of music technology.
