The office of the Sport director, Students’ Union Government under the leadership of Com. Akadiri Bayonle Seun organized a novelty match in commemoration of the outgoing Rector, Prof. Tunde Fawole, and his entire outgoing management team on Tuesday, 12th February, 2019 at the Sport Pavilion, North Campus, The Polytechnic Ibadan.
The novelty match which ended in a goalless draw had many dignitaries in attendance, amongst who are Prof. Tunde Fawole, The Outgoing Rector, Dr. Ajibola, the Dean of Directorate of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Fehintola A.H, the Registrar, Captain Ayo Vanghuan, the Chief Security Officer, amongst others.
During the opening speech, Com Akadiri Bayonle Seun said, “this match is organized to say a big thank you to Prof. Tunde Fawole, and to commend the effort of the entire administration of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.”
In his short speech, Prof. Fawole extended his gratitude to his administration, and the multitude of the students. While afterwards he made the kickoff kick, and the match which commenced ended goalless, the Rector team going on to win with the penalty shoot out.
