Following the declaration of the management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, the Oyo State government, under the administration of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, has nullified the suspension of the Students’ Union Executives.
The management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, through a memo signed by the Registra of the institution, Mrs Theresa Fawale, has suspended the Students’ Union executives, following the protest which saw hundreds of students march from the institution, down to the Oyo State Secretariat.
Nullifying the suspension, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, His Excellency, Bayo Lawal, questioned the basis of the suspension, and instructed that it is being looked into immediately.
According to him, protest is a fundamental right which is recognized under the law. He however, instructed that normalcy is being restored before 6pm, today.
