Day Two of the NBTE/Nigeria Polytechnics Senior Staff Games Association (NIPOSSGA) witnessed an action-packed day with five exciting matches played at The Polytechnic, Ibadan main pitch, North Campus.
These matches showcased the incredible talents and sportsmanship of the participating Polytechnic teams.
The day kicked off with a nail-biting goalless draw between Osun State Polytechnic, Iree and Federal Polytechnic, Ede. Both teams displayed strong defense, denying eachother goal-scoring opportunities.
In the second match, Abia State Polytechnic secured a 2-1 victory over The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS). Abia Poly’s attackers showed their prowess, while TOPS only managed to put up a spirited fight.
The third match between Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwanna and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) ended in another goalless draw. The teams exhibited remarkable defensive skills, ensuring neither side saw the back of the net.
Fans witnessed another goalless draw in the fourth match as Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti clashed with Federal Polytechnic, Oko. Both teams played a hard-fought game, but neither could break the deadlock.
The day’s event concluded with Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro securing a 2-0 victory over Plateau State Polytechnic. Federal Polytechnic Ilaro’s offense proved to be the difference-maker, securing a well-deserved win.
These thrilling matches on Day 2 of NIPOSSGA have set the stage for an exciting tournament ahead. The teams will continue to battle for supremacy, and spectators can expect more intense clashes in the days to come.
