Day 3 of the NBTE/Nigeria Polytechnics Senior Staff Games Association (NIPOSSGA) witnessed a diverse range of sporting events held at The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Football, volleyball, lawn tennis, and table tennis took center stage, captivating both athletes and spectators with their intense competition.
Football Matches:
In the football category, several thrilling matches took place. Waziri Umar Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi, displayed their dominance with a resounding 5-0 victory over Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa. Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi, secured a 3-1 win against Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ogun.
Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and Federal Polytechnic, Oko, played to a thrilling 3-3 draw in an action-packed match. The match witnessed rain of goals as both teams battled for supremacy on the pitch. Meanwhile, Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) and Auchi Polytechnic battled to a 1-1 draw. Offa Polytechnic had a convincing 3-0 win against Plateau Polytechnic.
Volleyball Showdown:
Volleyball enthusiasts witnessed intense matches, with Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, taking on Federal Polytechnic, Auchi. Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwanna, faced off against Plateau Polytechnic, Biladi. The matches showcased the incredible skills and teamwork of the participating polytechnics.
Lawn Tennis Duel:
In the lawn tennis category, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, faced a tough challenge against Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, with the latter emerging victorious with a score of 6-3. The match displayed exceptional tennis skills and sportsmanship.
Table Tennis and More:
Table tennis enthusiasts also enjoyed exciting matches throughout the day, with players showcasing their agility and precision in every rally. These matches added to the overall excitement of the day’s events.
