In a groundbreaking event, the Joint Minds Club, Asiwaju Chapter at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, played host to her first ever Leadership Summit on Wednesday, 25th of October, 2023, at the ICAN Building, The Polytechnic Ibadan.
The summit centered around unlocking academic excellence, drawing a diverse and eager crowd of young enthusiasts.

JM Oyekan Tobiloba, the program anchor, commenced proceedings with an opening prayer, followed by the recitation of the Joint Minds Club anthem, led by JM Toheebat Ramat.
The Club Emperor, JM Ige Adebayo, extended a warm welcome, shedding light on the club’s essence and acknowledging the presence of dignitaries within and beyond the institution.

The keynote speaker, LJM Adams Abiodun, addressed the theme, “Unlocking Academic Excellence and Beyond: A Journey into Joint Minds Club – Discover, Connect, Excel.” , expressing his concern over the turnout of attendees. He shared his personal journey with the Joint Minds Club since discovering it in 2001, emphasizing the club’s impact on his life.

LJM Adams Abiodun, urged greater awareness amongst lecturers and the administration of the school, highlighting the need for branding. He recounted the history of Joint Minds Club, tracing back to 1990 at Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and emphasized her commitment to academic and social excellence. He further underscored the importance of Joint Minds membership, citing a scholarship scheme and the potential for a rich social capital.

Following the keynote address, an Award of Excellence was presented to Dr. Kingsley Binitie, the Task Controller, Iwo Road, MSTO, who is the Club Grand Patron, and he in turn expressed willingness to support students in their industrial training placements.

A panel discussion ensued, featuring past Emperors of the Club, LJM Victor Oluwatobi Olajide, and LJM B. Oludapo Bakare as the panelists, while LJM Kamil Ayobami served as the Moderator, discussing the theme of unlocking academic excellence. Key points included; motivation, time management, curiosity, networking, continuous learning, and resilience.

The panelists shared personal stories and offered valuable tips for academic success, emphasizing the significance of discipline, determination, effective study habits, and embracing challenges. The panel session was followed by an engaging Question and Answer session with the audience.
The event then concluded with JM Salawudeen presenting awards to panelists and the keynote speaker. Certificates of recognition were also awarded to notable club members, marking a successful and inspiring Joint Minds Leadership Summit.

The event was graced by student leaders, presidents, and representatives across the institution, as well as past members and Emperors of the club.
