On the 27th of October, 2023, The Polytechnic, Ibadan female athletes came first in the Oyo State Tertiary Institution Games (OYSTIGA) hosted by the University of Ibadan.
The competition which was staged at Awolowo Field and SUB Field in the University of Ibadan, started on Tuesday 24th to Saturday 29th of October, 2023, had in attendance, eight Oyo State higher institutions who participated in the Football Games and Athletics (Sprint).
In the sprint category, female athletes from The Polytechnic, Ibadan outshined their competitors in all races (100, 200, 400 and 800 meters races) which accorded them the first position, while the female athletes from the host institution, the University of Ibadan came second. However, The Polytechnic, Ibadan male athletes came 5th in the relay race.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH)’s team outperformed The Polytechnic, Ibadan’s football team with 4 points and 5 goals to 4 points and 2 goals respectively from the group stage to knock out finals.
