The Executives of the Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU) at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has today Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, announced the suspension of their President, Alli-Balogun Olasubomi Joshua, amid serious allegations of misappropriation and embezzlement of association funds. The suspension, effective immediately, was conveyed through an official letter courtesy of all Executives.
According to the letter, dated July 16, 2024, the decision to suspend Alli-Balogun was not taken lightly. The gravity of the accusations, which also include tarnishing the image of other executives, necessitated the action to ensure the integrity of the association is maintained.
The FIBSU Executives emphasized the need for a thorough and impartial investigation to address these allegations. “We believe it is in the best interest of the association and its members to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into these serious allegations,” the letter stated.
Members of the association have been urged to remain cooperative and understanding during this period of investigation. The leadership of FIBSU has assured its members of their commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct.The letter concludes with a reassurance to the members: “Rest assured that we will take all necessary steps to address this issue and uphold the values of our association.” The FIBSU Executives have reiterated their dedication to maintaining the trust and confidence of their members during this challenging time.
