Academic activities resumed freshly after six months with high level of compliance to COVID-19 protocols on campus and the classroom.
As stated by the released academic calendar, only the Departments from the two resuming faculties ( FBCS and FES) are allowed on campus to resume academic activities and reside in the hostels. This developments are monitored and duely enforced by the school authority. Still, some disobedient students poised to act like a torn in the flesh of the management as they defied simple instructions This resulted into security personnel turning a number of students back for lack of facemask, decency and those not part of the resuming class.
In addition, lecturers conducted lessons with face mask, social distancing setup was adopted. Also, method for revision and as well as the student comportment to the approach was great.
Press Council took the liberty to question some of the resuming students. According to Olugbenga Damilare from Business Administration, “The school norms changes during this resumption and it will not be easy for student to adapt easily with the new implemented policy. But we understand that the world is changing.”
Furthermore, it is known that the management asked the student to complete all due registration before exams begins next week. Grace Omoniyi from the Department of Business Administration shared her slight concern about it. “The new policy implemented that we need to finish up registration before exam is a bit harsh, because it does not consider the parent and student that are sponsoring themselves. Another is some of us can’t access our portal, how do we conclude our registration without a portal?”
The school also saw high influx of past and graduating students who are on campus to begin clearance for mobilization/application. Also some made complaints about the lack of migration of the old portal to the new.
All that being, the clime of the campus is conducive and serene for resumption. In conclusion, the student, and staffs alike, are beseeched to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines like washing hands with soap regularly, usage of face/nose mask/shield, social distancing and clean personal hygiene. examination is coming but COVID-19 is real. Health is wealth.
