In the early hours of today, Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, report got out that the Head of Department, Office Technology and Management Department, Dr. Fakorede David has given up to death.
According to key witnesses and report from close sources of the deceased, he left home this morning with his wife and kids with plans to drop his kids off at school before making his way to work, but on his way to drop his kids at school, the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stopped him along Ojo road for necessary checks, and immediately he was ordered to proceed with his journey, he complained of headache and slumped afterwards.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, but all efforts made to save his life proved abortive, as he was declared dead by the doctors on duty.
In a meeting with student leaders, the Dean, Student Affairs, Mr. Makinde John described who Dr. Fakorede was and his invaluable contributions to the academic community. Hence, agreement was reached with students stakeholders that Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, should be a free day on campus to mourn his death.
In lieu of this, there would be no movement and social activities on campus tomorrow, while FYB activities continue on Thursday, 11th of July, 2024.
