Love has always been left hanging in the Nigeria atmosphere – people catching feelings and getting loved, and conversely for some, they catch feelings and unfortunately get ignored, or fall in the bad space of getting rejected. Either the former or the latter, love is an enzyme, it fastens the rate of getting responsible as Nigeria society connotes. It is also the delicacy that everyone tastes, even if it is for a trance during his/her lifetime.
In the early hours of Friday, 13th September, 2019, while I took to the social media to feed myself with the newsfeed on Instagram, I came across the post of the Billionaire HKN King, David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, where he proposed to Chioma Rowland, famously known as Chef Chi on the night of Thursday, 12th September, 2019 at a restaurant in London.
While I said congratulations to them, I asked myself, would Chioma Rowland have said NO to Davido’s proposal when there is apparently an assurance (pregnancy) already? Even without the introduction that took place between the two families in Lagos, which lady would turn down the offer to be the wife of a Billionaire HKN king? Owing that the spot is what many ladies would want to secure so badly, an example is Sophia Momodu, the mother of Imade Adeleke, and Amanda, the mother of Hailey Adeleke, both baby mamas of the musician.
As this piece is opinionated and it doesn’t call for a reprisal banter, you might accede to my saner clime and ask, was Davido’s proposal then a big deal, or it was just another celebrity showoff?
David Adedeji Adeleke and Chioma Avril Rowland have been together since the days at Babcock University, and it intensified in the April of 2018, when Davido released a track, Assurance, and bought her a #45 million Porsche to profess his love for Chioma. The public went painting every nook and cranny of the country with the colour of love, and even the term “Assurance” became the widely used word of the ladies to tell a man to get them an assurance if they would go into any relationship. If that was it, should Davido’s proposal on the Thursday night then be the big talk of the town when in the first instance the public were expecting it?
Lastly, everyone knows that celebrities have their different ways of showing-off, more like always wanting to stay in the centre of the public’s attention. While some celebrities love staying off the social media, some enjoy and made their lives revolve around it. Well, this piece is opinionated, so I can say, Adekunle Gold and Similoluwa’s relationship in the entertainment industry is still the talk of the year.
