The Students’ Union Government of The Polytechnic, Ibadan led by Comrade Fadare Blessing has confirmed today, Tuesday 28th July, 2020 for the distribution of palliatives to students of the institution who registered in a online survey in which the union used in certifying the most least privileged of the institutions’ students.
According to the information gathered, it was confirmed that the distribution of palliatives was a joint decision in conform with the Oyo State government, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS Oyo State) and the institution’s Students’ Union, prior to the officially announced date for the distribution of the palliatives.
This is in light of the COVID-19 outbreak which has caused the school to remain in lockdown for over four months Unfortunately, a number of students are still stuck in campus due to the lockdown, and are in dire need of incentives to cushion the economic effects of the stay-at -home order.
When we reached the SUG president, Comrade Fadare Blessing via WhatsApp text, he explained that. “To students, it will be shared to students that filled the survey link, and if we still have some items left and we couldn’t get all those that fill the link then we can extend the sharing to the valid students with any means of identification.”
