The Polytechnic, Ibadan Management has set timetable, eligiblity for all aspirants and available positions for the 2020/2021 Students’ Union Government Election (SUE and SRC).
According to an official document released by the Students’ Affairs dated 26th July, 2021.It specified, a proposed timetable for the election and every other necessary criteria needed by aspirants running for any SUG offices.
Also, the eligiblity which mandatorily every aspirants must meet before they run for political positions at the SUG level and the available Positions for the Students’ Union Executives.
However, the details include:
PROPOSED TIME TABLE FOR 2020/2021 STUDENTS’ UNION ELECTION.
Collection of nomination forms – Fri, 30th July, 2021
Meeting with the heads of departments – Tue, 3rd August, 2021
Closing date for submission of completed nomination – Wed, 11th August, 2021
Display of list of candidates on notice boards – Thur, 12th August, 2021
Meeting with departments/Faculties Presidents – Fri, 13th August, 2021
Meeting with the current Student Union Executives – Fri, 13th August, 2021
Meeting with candidates – Tue, 17th August, 2021
Screening of candidates – Wed, 18th August, 2021
Display of Approved list of candidates – Thur, 19th August, 2021
Consideration of petitions on result of screening – Fri, 20th August, 2021
Commencement of campaign by contestants – Mon, 23rd to Thur 26th August, 2021
Submission of photographs and list of contestants’ agents- Mon, 23rd to Thur 26th August, 2021
Press day and manifesto day – Fri, 27th August, 2021
Election day for SUE and SRC. – Mon, 30th August, 2021

2020/2021 STUDENTS’ UNION ELECTION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ASPIRANTS
Students contesting Students’ Union Government Positions Shall satisfy the following Criteria:
All aspirants must have a minimum of Lower Credit (2.5 CGPA) with the exception of the President who shall have at least Upper Credit CGPA (1st Semester result of the first year).
All aspirants for SUE position must not hold any office in the department, faculty, Association, Press Club or any other Association within the institution.
An aspirant must be willing, ready and able to serve at all time with genuine interest.
Any aspirant must have spent at least one academic semester in the institution.
Any aspirant that has been found guilty of any misconduct or crime within and/or outside the institution shall not be eligible for any Students’ Union Election.
An aspirant must meet the following requirements for 2020/2021 Students’ Union Election screening exercise:
Current 2nd Semester School Fees Receipt.
Any of the following Identity Cards i.e. School I.D., Faculty, Departmental and Library
Current Students’ Union Receipt
HND aspirants must produce ND Notification of Result from accredited Institution of Higher Learning
ND aspirants must produce SSCE Result.
ND1 & HND1 students must have submitted their Matriculation Oath. A photocopy must be attached to the form before submission.
