In an Official memo released earlier today November 29, 2024, by the Students’ Union Executives(SUE), The Polytechnic Ibadan, announced a significant reduction in the charges imposed by campus cafes for students’ registration services.
The new fixed prices, which aim to ease the financial burden on students, were introduced following the collaboration between the school Management and the Students’ Union Executive. The SUE emphasized that the changes align with their commitment to fostering a supportive and affordable learning environment for students.
The revised charges saw a considerable reduction compared to the previous rates.
These are Highlights of the New Pricing :
1. School Fee Processing (Indigene & Non-Indigene): Reduced from ₦5,000 to ₦2,000.
2. Acceptance Fee Processing: Fixed at ₦2,000, down from ₦4,000.
3. Hostel/Utility Processing: Reduced from ₦2,000 to ₦1,500.
4. Photocopying: Now ₦50 per copy instead of ₦100.
5. Color Printing: Dropped from ₦500 to ₦300.
6. Lamination of ID Cards: Set at ₦100, reduced from ₦ 200.
7. Scanning: Fixed at ₦100, previously ₦200.
The changes apply to a total of 11 essential services, offering students relief and promoting a more equitable system for processing registration documents. Students are urged to report any Non-compliance of cafe operators who is not adhering to the new fixed prices.
