“I will do the just and right thing at all time in all place” (’emi a se ohun toto to dara nigba gbogbo nibi gbogbo ni ipinle oyo’,) that was the Rector; The Polytechnic, Ibadan Engr. (Prof) Kazeem Adebiyi, while giving his heartwarming speech at the day 1 of the 2019/2020 Orientation Programme for Freshers which is scheduled for 4th-6th March 2020 at the 1000 capacity Hall of the institution. The opening day of the progrmmme which had in attendance management team, staffs, students’s leaders, large number of students, security personnel was recorded to be an interesting one. Also , the Rector envisaged on the excerpt of the state anthem recited, “these are not just songs but guideline for everyone to follow which preaches good behavior and character that every students must adhere to”, he concluded.

The Registrar, Mrs Modupe Theresa Fawale also made some affirmations to the students, ‘you are our hope of tomorrow and we will never sacrifice our hope, that’s why we will make sure we give you sound and quality education’, she said.
More so, Mr Akeredolu the Chief Sports Coach threw more lights on the rules, guidelines and principles that follows the conduct of sporting activities on campus thus, security on campus and cultism was more emphasized by the Chief Security Officer while other sessions such as rudiments on the Use of Library anchored by Chief Librarian Dr Ajala Samuel and lecture was delivered on Youth Engagement by Faculty Officer, FBCS (Mr Adeolu Ojo).
While chatting with Press Council correspondence, some of attendees (students) made it known that most of them could not believe that The Polytechnic Ibadan is more than its looks until the moment of the orientation hence, they promised to react positively to the lectures delivered. ‘This lecture and orientation gives more assurance on the readiness to impact on us knowledge at the peak’, Adeola HND 1 mass communication
As the orientation programme continues 5th-6th March, 2020 students are enjoined to come out in mass to learn more –watch out as you know more about Rules Guiding the Conduct of Exam; How to Stay Healthy on Campus; Life on Campus; and Security Matters
