The Students’ Union Executive (SUE) of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has successfully secured an extension for the ongoing biometric capturing exercise, ensuring that students who have not yet completed their identification process are accommodated.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the Union highlighted that despite a strong turnout, a significant number of students were unable to complete their biometric registration. This raised concerns that many could be adversely affected if the institution’s strict “No ID Card, No Entry” policy was enforced immediately.
Acting on these concerns, the Students’ Union appealed to the Polytechnic management to extend the exercise. Management has approved the extension, allowing students additional time to complete their biometric registration.
The exercise will continue at the Assembly Hall, beginning from 9:00 a.m., and students are strongly urged to take advantage of this opportunity to comply with the identification requirement.
The notice was issued by the Office of the Public Relations Officer and jointly signed by the Students’ Union President, Fagbemi Nurudeen Ojo, the General Secretary, Tajudeen Muh’d Shittu, and announced by the Public Relations Officer, Ipadeola Usman Gbolagade.
The Students’ Union urged all students to cooperate fully to avoid any disruption to their academic activities, reiterating the importance of adhering to institutional policies.
