The Polytechnic, Ibadan has issued a directive mandating all students and staff to wear their identity cards at all times while on campus. The announcement was contained in an internal memorandum released on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from the Office of the Senior Deputy Registrar (P) and endorsed by the Registrar.
According to the memo, management has repeatedly instructed the campus community to display their identity cards, but compliance has remained low. The institution noted that the measure has become necessary in light of the current security situation.
“In view of the present security situation, Management has deemed it necessary to request the display of Identity Card by all staff and students on campus,” the memo stated.
The memo emphasized that anyone who fails to comply risks embarrassment or may be prevented from accessing campus facilities. It further revealed that security personnel have been directed to enforce compliance both within and around the school premises to ensure peace and order.
The notice has been copied to principal officers, deans, directors, heads of relevant units, student affairs authorities, and other administrative divisions for widespread implementation.
The institution urged full cooperation, noting that the directive is intended to support campus safety.
“Kindly give this memorandum the widest publicity it deserves,” the memo concluded.
