The Students’ Union of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has commended the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the successful and timely disbursement of school fees to student beneficiaries.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the Union confirmed that the long-anticipated funds had been fully disbursed, enabling beneficiaries to settle their school fees amid prevailing economic challenges.
This development described the intervention as a major relief that has restored academic stability across the institution.
According to the Union, the disbursement has significantly reduced the financial burden on affected students and allowed many to focus better on their academic responsibilities.
It praised NELFUND’s management for what it described as an efficient and student-centered process.“The gesture will undoubtedly go a long way in easing the financial burden on students and supporting academic stability,” the Union stated, while emphasizing the need for sustained collaboration between educational institutions and relevant government agencies.
The Students’ Union also advised beneficiaries to remain calm and patient as additional guidelines and subsequent procedures would be communicated in due course.
Students were urged to rely strictly on official channels for information to avoid misinformation and confusion.
Reaffirming its appreciation, the Union thanked NELFUND for its continued commitment to students’ education and pledged to keep the student body informed of all further developments concerning the loan scheme.
The statement was released through the Office of the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ipadeola Usman Gbolagade, was jointly signed by the Students’ Union President, Comrade Fagbemi Nurudeen Ojo, and the General Secretary, Comrade Tajudeen Muh’d Shittu.
