The Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, announced on March 2, 2025, that the 2024/2025 First Semester Examinations have been rescheduled due to an impending National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accreditation exercise.
According to an internal memorandum issued by The Dean, Student Affairs, the NBTE team is scheduled to visit the institution from Tuesday, March 4, to Thursday, March 6, 2025, to accredit over 30 academic programs. When confirming the validity of the memo, The Dean explained that the institution was due for accreditation. With the accreditation team already in the Southwest region, it was imperative for the school to expedite the process.
Furthermore, since the accreditation exercise is a two-day process that had to be completed promptly without affecting students’ exam preparations, the institution found it necessary to reschedule the exam dates. Additionally, lecturers—who typically invigilate the examinations are required to assist the accreditation team.
Consequently, the examinations, originally set to commence on Monday, March 3, 2025, have been shifted to Thursday, March 6, 2025. To accommodate these changes, some exams will also be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
The memorandum, signed by Makinde A. J., The Dean, Student Affairs, was circulated to Faculty heads, Department heads, Faculty Officers, security officials, and to be posted on student notice boards. Students are advised to adhere strictly to the new schedule, as no further adjustments will be made. They are encouraged to check their respective notice boards and faculty offices for additional details on the revised timetable.
This decision aims to ensure a smooth NBTE accreditation process while minimizing disruptions to academic activities and safeguarding students’ preparations for their examinations.
