In a highly competitive E-Voting Students’ Union Executive Election, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, today, 25th of October, 2025, witnessed an impressive level of student participation as the institution successfully concluded its union leadership poll, Fagbemi Nurudeen Ojo emerge as the SUE President-elect.
The election, which was conducted online, saw a significant turnout of accredited voters from various departments and faculties starting at exactly 11:15 AM, at the Assembly Hall , North Campus of the institution, being the elections control room, were; Members of the Press Council, Electoral Committee, Candidates Agents and officers from various security agencies, to witness and coordinate the voting process.

During the election, The Acting Rector, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, The Acting Registrar, Mr Joseph Ogunjimi, and Hon. Victor Olojede, SSA on Students Affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, visited the election control room to ensure the process was free and fair. The Four hours long electoral process had 22,120 Total accredited voters of which 4646 students participated.

The election for the position of Student Union President was keenly contested between the two candidates, with one emerging victorious after securing the higher number of votes.
