Comrade James Segun led 2023/2024 administration of the Actuarial Science and Insurance Students’ Association (ASISAN) organized their annual summit for students of Insurance Department on Wednesday, the 29th of May, 2024 at the Assembly Hall, North Campus, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

The summit themed UNLEASHED; Flying Towards Possibilities, commenced as the H.O.D of the Insurance department, Dr O.A Momoh said the opening address. In her address, she appreciated all the invited guests for coming and also appreciated the President of the Department, Com. James Segun for taking up the laid down Project of his predecessors.

Notable dignitaries present at the summit were Dr M.K Lawal, the Dean of FFMS, Mr Akinola Oladeji, The CIIN Chairman Ibadan Chapter, Mr Ademola Fagbile, Mr Tiamiyu Abdul- Rasaq , Mr Idris Taiwo and The Students Union Government amongst many others.

The Guest Speaker, Abike Shuga a Content Creator and an Influencer was welcomed to the stage by the department’s president, Comrade James Segun. She addressed the theme of the event, Unleashed, and encouraged Students to be each other’s helpmeet without thinking highly of themselves.

During the summit, Mr Akinola Oladeji the Chairman of CIIN addressed the students and pointed out the importance of the summit to them as upcoming professionals and encouraged them to start building up for the future while still in school.

Mr Fagbile Ademola, one of the notable guests also addressed the students and encouraged them to be global thinkers.

Succeeding the theme session, the theme speaker, Abike Shuga, organized a dancing competition between students. The winner was presented with a sum of Twenty Thousand Naira and the first runner up a sum of Ten thousand Naira.

A panel session ensued between Olushola Tosin, a Photographer and Owotunmi Damola Victor, a brand influencer. After which awards of appreciation were given to the Panelists and Guests present at the event. The president of the department was also awarded by the department for taking up the great initiative, INESS 3.0.
