Almost all male teenager or young adult has join this self-destructive trade, and defends the trend with acrid justification. This further tarnishes the image of the well meaning and hardworking ones that have sought to legitimate dealings. Now we’re in a pit of our own digging and we can’t ask the diggers to stop as it could spell rebuke.”
In a bid to promote literary activities among students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Junior Chamber International, The Polytechnic, Ibadan Chapter, has brought to you the 2nd annual edition of her Essay Writing & Debate Competition.
The competition comes in two stages:
ESSAY WRITING CONTEST.
DEBATE COMPETITION.
ESSAY WRITING CONTEST.
Interested Participants are enjoined to write on the topic: ‘FRAUD: A Threat to National Economy’. Use relative facts, quotes, and illustrations to justify your write-up.
DEBATING/SPEECH CONTEST.
Consequence of the screening from the essay writing contest, the two best entries from each faculty will be selected to represent the said faculty in the debating/speech competition that follows. Topics of the debate shall be communicated to the participants few days to the grand finale through their faculties.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Eligible to all students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
For essay contest, minimum word count should be 800 words while maximum word count should not exceed 1500.
Attached to the Submission should be your full name, Matriculation number, department, faculty, level, phone number and email address.
Submission should be in Microsoft Word format.
Font Size 14, Times New Roman and double line spacing.
Entries including profanity and vulgarity will be disqualified
No form of plagiarism will be tolerated.
Entries should be submitted to be polyibadan@jci.ng.
Submission deadline is Friday, 12th February , 2021; 11:59 pm
Any submission that doesn’t follow the guidelines above shall be disqualified.
