The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has declared Friday, January 9, 2026, as a lecture and test-free day to enable newly admitted students participate fully in the 2025/2026 Orientation Programme.
The declaration was contained in an internal memorandum issued by the Directorate of Student Affairs and signed by the Senior Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs, Ms. F. F. Olatona.
According to the memo, the orientation programme for fresh students is scheduled to hold on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the 1,000 Capacity Hall, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The memorandum further stated that the Rector of the institution Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi has graciously approved the lecture-free day to allow fresh students the opportunity to fully grace the occasion without academic constraints.
The directive was communicated to Deans of Faculties across the institution for necessary compliance.
The orientation programme is expected to formally introduce new students to the academic culture, rules, and support systems of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
