Following numerous student appeals, the management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has approved the continuation of the biometric capturing exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session identity card.
This was disclosed in a memo released by the Students’ Union on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The exercise is scheduled to resume on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Assembly Hall by 9:00 a.m. daily.

This development comes after the Union claimed it had appealed to the school management on behalf of students who were yet to complete the process.
The announcement was signed by The President of the Students’ Union; Fagbemi Nurudeen Ojo, General Secretary;Tajudeen Muh’d Shittu, and The Public Relations Officer; Ipadeola Usman Gbolagade.
The Students’ Union emphasized that many students were yet to complete the capturing process, prompting the extension. Students who have not yet participated are strongly urged to take advantage of the limited window, as the process will end very soon.
The biometric capturing is essential for generating student identity cards, which are required for campus access, examinations, and other official engagements.
Students are reminded to come along with the following:
– SUG Teller
– Faculty Receipt
– Departmental Receipt
The Union appreciated the cooperation of the student body and encouraged full compliance to avoid future issues with student identification.
