The Junior Chamber International, The Polytechnic, Ibadan has on Friday, revealed it’s plan to extend the deadline for the submission of entries for the coming Asiwaju Literary Competition earlier slated to end on Friday,12th of February, 2020.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) who made this known through her Team Lead , Mr. Babatunde Adebayo in a meeting on Friday, maintained that the date for entry submission has been extended for the period of two (2) weeks due to logistical reason hindering students from participating in the context.
Mr. Babatunde Adebayo while stating the reason noted that the ongoing industrial strike by aggrieved unions in the institution has delayed the commencement of the second semester which therefore neccessitate the absence of students from Campus.
“Students who we would love to be participate in the contest are currently not in campus due to the strike.
“This however call for the need to extend the deadline for submission for a period of two weeks to create enabling environment for students to get aware and participate in the great annual programme.” Mr. Adebayo maintained.
The 2021 Asiwaju Literary Competition organized by the collaboration of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Junior Chamber International and Collaborate 4 Impact would have students from the 5 faculties of the institution on the podium to competite in a speech contest.
Interested students from different faculties who have interest in contesting for the competition are required to write an essay of not more than 1500 words on the topic ” Fraud As A Threat To National Economy” and send their entries to the email polyibadan@jci.ng
The contest would however require lucky winners of the entry to discuss meticulously and give detailed and illustrative analysis about a given topic.
